Representative of the 'Supreme Leader' at London University - While thousands of Iran's students are still in the Islamic regime's medieval prisons, some having received long term jail sentences and some having been sentenced to death, the School of Oriental and African Studies - SOAS - which is part of London university, is holding a conference on Khomeini's modernism in Islamic thought !. Worse still one of the guest speakers is the representative of the supreme leader in London, Ayatollah Mohsen ArAki.

NMIR considers it outrageous that a British university, despite the recent NUS statement condemning the crackdown on students, is providing a platform for the representative of an evil cleric whom the vigilantes consider as their 'Leader'. Hundreds of Iranian students have been maimed, injured or killed by the vigilantes thugs who swear allegiance to this so called supreme leader. It is utterly inappropriate for this Ayatollah to be given a platform to promote Khomeini in a British university.

If you wish to protest, you can ring Sarah Stewart, the organiser of this conference on 0171-637 2388 extn 2439 or ZibA Mir-Hosseini, an active promoter of Khatami, on 0171-323 6322. Don't be fooled if they tell you this is just an academic discussion. There should be no room for Ayatollah Araki in a university.
